Life Below Water
-Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
The ocean covers most of the Earth. And animals, plants and other organisms in the ocean could not be extinct. The food chain could not be snapped. We have to protect the ocean from being polluted and we can't leave it with polluted water for our little 'friends'.
-Together, we will protect the lives below water.
Targets
Target 14.1
By 2025, we will prevent the amount of marine pollution of all kinds.
Target 14.2
By 2020, we will sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems and prevent adverse impacts made by human
Target 14.3
We will prevent acidification impacts on the ocean including through enhanced scientific cooperation at all level.
Target 14.4
By 2020, we will manage regulations to prevent overfishing.
Target 14.5
By 2020, we will conserve at least 10 per cent of coastal and marine areas.
Target 14.6
By 2020, we will prohibit certain forms of subsidies fisheries which contribute to overcapacity and overfishing.
Target 14.7
By 2030, we will increase the economics of island states by non-subsidies usage of resources in the marine areas.
Target 14.A
We will improve ocean health and enhance the contribution of marine biodiversity to the development of developing countries by increasing scientific knowledge.
Target 14.B
We will support small scale fishers by providing access to marine resources.
Target 14.C
We will enhance the sustainable use of the ocean by implementing international laws.
